Napoleon Brienne-le-Château Museum

In the heart of the building of the former Royal Military School, the Napoleon Museum offers you to discover the different facets of this world-famous figure.

The Napoleon Museum was created following the wish of the elected officials to pay tribute to the illustrious student who had passed through these places. Opened in 1969 around three rooms dealing with the Briennoise schooling of Bonaparte and the French Campaign, the museum has undergone little evolution. In 1995, thanks to the legacy of Mr. Devinot, three new rooms were created: one dedicated to the works bequeathed by Mr. Devinot, a room dedicated to the Period of the Restoration and one to the Napoleonic legend. It was also during this period that the treasure of the churches of the Parc de la Forêt d'Orient took place in the premises of the Napoleon Museum and the reception and ticketing was installed in the Carmelite Chapel. In recent years, it has been desired the expansion and renovation of the Napoleon Museum. In addition to the dilapidated nature of some of the facilities, the museum was no longer responding to the increasingly demanding public demand. It was in May 2016 that the Napoleon Museum closed its doors to carry out the renovation work. After almost two years of work, the Napoleon Museum reopened in January 2018 with a new welcome, a modern set design and renewed themes.
